UK Vinyl Record Cutting at Curve Pusher in Hastings

Curve Pusher are a UK Vinyl Record Cutting facility and recording studio located in Hastings, East Sussex. They have the highest-quality sound equipment and facilities for recording, mastering, and then cutting to Vinyl. The studios have two Neumann Cutting lathes in-house, the Neumann VMS70 Cutting Lathe & the Neumann VMS70 vinyl cutting lathe, of which there are only 100 left in the world (vinyl record cutting machine).They also have a full range of vintage keyboards, drum machines & analog synthesisers including a Minimoog, Korg-MS20 Monopoly, all the classic Roland Drum machines including - TR909, TR808, TR606, TR727. We had the privilege of learning about the record-cutting process whilst filming and also photographing the iconic sound equipment.

Lawrie Dunster owner of Curve Pusher has worked in the music world for over 35 years, starting out in punk bands at the age of 14 and then moving through a huge range of musical genres playing both analogue and digital instruments. The company moved to Hastings in 2018. The new recording studio and vinyl record cutting machines were designed and the construction was overseen by founder Lawrie Dunster, with attention to every detail being made, the studios were equipped and fitted out to the highest specification.


How are records made?

Curve Pusher own some of the highest quality record-cutting equipment that has ever been made including several Neumann VMS70's which are now rare.

What are some of the best Vintage Synths to own?

Curve Pusher own some of the most collectable vintage synthesisers. These are used by musicians in their recording studio and for session work. The synths they own include Minimoog, Korg-MS20 Monopoly as well as all of the classic Roland Drum machines from the TR909, TR808, TR606 to the TR727.
